8M March in Mexico City

The March on March 8 in Mexico City will take place this Saturday, with the main contingent gathering at the Angel of Independence at 2:00 PM. The route will start on Paseo de la Reforma, passing by the El Caballito monument, Avenida Juárez, Eje Central, and concluding at the Zócalo.

Some groups have announced they will depart from the Fountain of the Diana Cazadora, on Paseo de la Reforma, with a gathering at 11:30 AM and movement at 12:30 PM. The march will proceed along Paseo de la Reforma until reaching the Zócalo, where speeches, future actions in defense of women's rights, and artistic interventions will take place.

If you plan to attend the march, it is important to dress comfortably and appropriately, bring water to stay hydrated, and protect yourself from the sun. Make sure your phone is charged and consider bringing a portable battery in case of emergency. Also, share your location in real-time with family or trusted friends.

Every year, on International Women's Day, women in Mexico take to the streets to demand justice, equality, and respect for their human rights. In Mexico City, the 8M March will have multiple gathering points, from feminist collectives to universities calling their students to participate in the mobilization.

It is advisable to agree on a meeting point in case of separation from the group and to carry cash, as well as to have emergency contacts on hand for any eventuality. The mobilization seeks to highlight the demands of women and continue the fight for gender equality in Mexico.
